  • 16-18 Year Olds

    • 5-10 pieces completed within the past two years

    Adults (18+):

    • 10-20 pieces completed within the past two years;

    • applicants favorite piece;

    • one piece that shows one of the elements of art (line, shape, form, value, etc.);

    • one piece that shows experimentation.

    • one short story, OR one personal essay, OR one poem;

    • one piece you feel particularly proud of;

    • optional: excerpt from a novel or script

    • must be submitted in 12 point Times New Roman, double spaced.

  • TBD.

  • Applicants must:

    • Be 16 years or older (applicants 16-18 years old need parents permission);

    • Live or have lived (permanently or temporarily) in at least one New England State for at least ONE month;

    • and have a portfolio that meets the requirements of the application.

  • ALL portfolios must be submitted in a PDF and titled like: lastname-firstname-portfoliocurrentyear (ex: obrien-aarynn-portfolio2025)


    Automatic disqualifications:

    • low quality images

    • AI art/writing

    • incorrect file types

    • incorrectly named files

    • rude, hateful, otherwise discriminatory art/writing

    • anything with fonts similar to comic sans or papyrus


    All must follow a rubric:

    • Presentation: looks clean and well put together, images are high quality

    • Time: portfolio was not rushed, shows clear amount of time spent into it

    • Content: all the required pieces are in it

    • Other: file is named adequately; file is a PDF;

    • adults need to submit an artist statement/personal essay but also descriptions of all pieces (medium, size, motif, year)

    • HS kids can send Power Points of images and 3-4 sentences about each piece (medium, size, motif, year)

  • Within 30 days of their membership expiring, members can expect to receive an email from one of the board (most likely a secretary). Members can also expect reminder emails at 14 days, 7 days, and 1 day. Members have until 30 days AFTER their expiration date, to renew membership or their membership will be terminated. They will be reminded that they must resubmit a new portfolio (with the above criteria, EXCEPT they cannot resubmit pieces from a previous portfolio) and they must pay a membership fee again. If applicants applied for a waiver, they may need to resubmit any proof. 

    When ready to renew, members must submit a renewal form. Once received, applicants will receive an email receipt. Finally, on the last Sunday of every month, the board will approve or deny applications. Applicants will receive an email of approval or denial.
