Mission
Creative Artists of New England (CANE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit based in New Hampshire, dedicated to building a community of artists within the states of New England: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. CANE’s mission is to provide resources to upcoming and current artists, as well as give opportunities for growth, artistically, financially, and socially.
*As we are just starting out, resources are limited to New Hampshire and Maine. As we grow, resources will be expanded to other states.
Vision
The CANE team hopes to provide resources to artists in New England. We want to help make the New England art community stronger by boosting artists and small businesses through collaboration to offer affordable workshops, galleries, artist talks, critique spaces, and many more community based opportunities. As of June 9th, 2025, CANE is tax exempt under Internal Revenue code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). Under Section 501(c)(3), CANE was further classified as a public charity under IRC Section 509(a)(2). CANE’s 501(c)(3) non-profit EIN is: 39-2974020.

CANE was started by Ronan Dwyer (President), Aarynn O’Brien (Vice President), Erika Ventura (Social Media Manager), and four other artists who now make up the Honorary Board.

CANE plans to offer a variety of resources, including but not limited to: critique spaces, zines, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, artist talks, and workshops. When you join our Bi-Monthly Patreon Bird Mail Club or make a general donation, it will help make CANE’s mission a reality to provide affordable and accessible to artists and non-artists all over New England. If you choose to donate by subscribing to our Bi-Monthly Patreon you will also receive early access to artist talks, workshop sign ups, the opportunity to choose what workshops CANE will run as well as CANE and art related merchandise in the mail!
